Raising funds for the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, at the Charity Tuna Competition

The 15^th annual philanthropic tuna fishing competition organised by the Cyprus Yachting Magazine “Το ψάρεμα και τα μυστικά του” in memory of the publication’s contributors Christos Aristidou, Chrysanthos Chrysanthou, Nakis Christodoulou, Haris Soleas and Antonis Diamantides.

Held on Sunday, 7^th July 2024, participating teams caught a total of 150kg of fish, with the winning ‘Irene’ team in the S.I.S.E.A.L. category catching fish coming in at 23,445 grams. Out of the competing companies, first place went to the ‘Diana’ team whose fish weighed 11,790 grams. In the Limassol Marina category, the first place was taken by the ‘Mavros’ team, with a total weight of 15,480gr. The trophy for the largest fish went to the ‘Christiana’ team with a fish weighing 11,750 grams. Following the weighing of the fish and awarding commemorative prizes to the winner, a raffle was held raising €2,000 that was donated in full to the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society. Competitors also enjoyed a live sushi demonstration by a well-known restaurant.

During the ceremony, special thanks were extended to the Amateur Fishing Boat Owners Association (ΣΙΣΕΑΛ) for their support, as well as the sponsors and donors of the event, namely Diamantides Yachting, K.O.E (Center for Orthopedic Applications), Anglermania, Furuno, Bluavventura, C.K.
